FLOURIDE |
|
| The
fluoridation of public water supplies was passed by Salt Lake County
voters in November, 2000. The Salt Lake County Health Department will be
administering this new program and has recently proposed that water
systems serving populations of Three Thousand Three Hundred or more will be required to
flouridate as per the voters wishes.
The implementation date has been delayed until October 2003 to give the Health Department and the State of Utah more time to thoroughly design implementation protocols. Flouridation has been successfully implemented in the Greater Salt valley where the population served is larger than 3300. Salt Lake Co. Service Area #3 population is less than 3300 and therefore is not required to flouridate.
