It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the web site of Salt Lake County Service Area #3 at Snowbird.

It is our intent to use this site to help keep you better informed about issues currently affecting the Service Area and the quality and quantity of your drinking water.

The Service Area was formed in 1971 to provide for A Sanitary Sewer serving the Snowbird Ski And Summer Resort. we have ten miles of ten inch mainline sewer which connects into the Cottonwood Improvement District. The Town Of Alta incorporated in 1970 to be able to provide sewer within the Town boundaries.

The installation of the sewer in the entire canyon reduced the need for holding tanks and leaching fields thereby improving the water quality of Little Cottonwood Creek and the entire canyon.

Although we are a small Service Area, we are subject to the same rules and regulations that affect all systems small and large.

This is an exciting time to be in the water and wastewater industry and the next few years promise to bring many changes.
