The work session meeting commenced at 11:30 a.m. Attending trustees received the following: May 18th, 2010 Board Meeting Minutes.

1. Mr. Hanson updated the board on the status of the treatment plant project, including parts purchased and costs expended. Demolition is scheduled for next week as Mr. Hanson conducted two tunnel tours last week.

2. Mr. Hanson discussed concerns with the recent run-off and possible infiltration into the sewer system. Steve and Kellie pulled several manholes last week and also watched flows. There was some minor infiltration into the Alta system, but nothing significant.

3. Mr. Hanson met with Snowbird to discuss replacement of the water tank on Hidden Peak, which may be a project for this summer.

4. There were some problems, which Mr. Hanson addressed recently, involving the excavation in Powder Ridge for the new Libre house. Mr. Hanson made recommendations to the contractors to avoid damaging the sewer line.

5. Another issue in the Powder Ridge area occurred which Mr. McIntosh responded to was a broken lateral from one of the homes, causing the asphalt to buckle.

6. Mr. Schwartz, a home owner at the View Condominiums Unit #15, contacted Mr. Hanson regarding a chlorine taste and odor in his water. Mr. Hanson explained causes for this event.

7. Mr. Hanson gave approval to the owner's of SugarplumVillage Unit #21 owners to build an exterior deck near our sewer easement. Once building commences, Mr. Hanson will meet with the contractor to make sure there is sufficient clearance between deck and footings.

8. Mr. Hanson is in the process of fine tuning the turbine in the tunnel. As part of the hydro electric study for Snowbird, this is great public relations for the resort.

9. Mr. Hanson met with Patrick Nelson of the Salt Lake City Water Shed of our water system and examined any damages caused by the recent flooding in the Canyon. Fortunately the high run-off did not adversely affect our system.

10. Mr. Hanson will be sending Daniel Spor to a 3 day hazwoper course presented by Utah Local Governments Trust next week.

11. The Service Area received a letter from the Attorney General's Office, regarding requirements, (effective as of July 1, 2009), to participate in the "Status Verification System", (e-verify). The Service Area will register with e-verify in efforts to abide by this law by confirming employee I-9 information and advising contractors we use to register with the Status Verification System.

12. Mr. Hanson will be presenting the 2010 property tax information at the June 15th, 2010 board meeting. A hearing will be held and a resolution will be presented to set the rate. The tax packet is now prepared on-line by the Service Area treasurer.

13. Mr. Hanson gave trustees copies of the 2010 Service Area budget with amended columns. The Board will be presented with a resolution to amend this budget at the upcoming meeting.

14. Monica Lisenbee attended the annual meeting of the Utah Local Government's Trust the end of May.

15. Unified Fire Authority Captain Wayne Rogers arranged for the UFA-Wild Land crew to conduct training near our building. This involved cutting up and removing the tree debris from the area surrounding the Service Area office caused by the early April avalanche.

There being no further business to be discussed the work session meeting closed at 12:33 p.m.
